Möbius inspired art

Today is the 218th birthday of August Ferdinand Möbius. This German mathematician and astronomer is best known for his conception of the Möbius strip. On this occasion I’d like to post some pictures I shot of a Möbius inspired piece of artwork in the city of Leeuwarden. The work was created by Matthijs van Dam en Peter Jansen and is titled “Mobiüs ring”. It’s basically a twisted arch over a cycle track.
